Battle of Lexington and Concord
by Alex
The battles of Lexington and Concord were the first battles of the Revolutionary War. As the British arrived in Lexington, the Continental caption told his men, "Stand your ground. Do not fire unless fired upon.external image North_Bridge_Fight_Detail.jpg If they want to have a war, let it begin here!external image British_Army_in_Concord_Detail.jpg The first shot fired at Lexington was known as the "Shot heard 'Round the world". No one knows who fired the first shot. Each side accused the other of firing first. After defeating America at Lexington, the British went to Concord, and burnt the town’s weapons. The civilians grew mad, and the army chased the British back to Boston.
